Gunshot Victim Found in Bullet-Riddled Car After Police Chase on Spring Hill Avenue
A deputy heard gunshots on Dauphin Street and followed a blue car to Spring Hill Avenue, where police found a shooting victim in a bullet-riddled vehicle.
Mobile police worked an active scene along Spring Hill Avenue near I-65 Wednesday afternoon after a car with multiple bullet holes turned up near the 3300 block, close to a car stereo store.
According to officers at the scene, a sheriff’s deputy stationed on Dauphin Street heard gunshots and tailed a blue vehicle from that location to Spring Hill. When the car was stopped around 2 p.m., a gunshot victim was found inside, and the vehicle itself carried several bullet holes.
Details about the victim’s condition and what prompted the shooting were not immediately available as investigators worked the scene. The incident remained under investigation by Mobile Police, with the shots apparently fired near Dauphin Street before the car traveled to the Spring Hill Avenue location where it was found.
