Music fans across the Mobile area have another festival to mark on the calendar: Make a Scene VIII returns Sept. 29, 2018, and it is no newcomer. The all-day, all-ages event opens at 2 p.m. with music from 3 p.m. until 11 p.m., and a $10 ticket buys more than ten bands.
Ten-Plus Bands of Heavy Music
Presented by DeltaSwamp Productions at VFW Post 7320 in Saraland, the eighth edition features Excessum, DARK STAR COVEN, Storm Within, Killhammer, PARABELLUM, Beyond My Control, HellBent, Future Hate and D.R.E.A.D., with Mobile band Kings of the South hosting. It is a long, cheap bill built specifically for mosh fans.
Organizers say supporting the event helps ensure a ninth encore next year, and they frame it as a way for the community to keep building Mobile’s music scene. More details are available through the festival’s Facebook page and the DeltaSwamp and Kings of the South pages.
