A Perkinston man is jailed on multiple charges stemming from a home invasion in the Hurley community, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Mike Ezell said that around 3 p.m. Monday, 29-year-old Rusty Bond held a woman at gunpoint inside her home, took her car keys and money, and fled in her vehicle south on Highway 63. The Mississippi Highway Patrol began a pursuit that continued across Wade-Vancleave Road, where Jackson County deputies joined in.

The chase proceeded onto Highway 57 and westbound on Interstate 10. Sheriff Ezell said Bond bailed out of the car near the Ramada Limited motel at the Ocean Springs exit. After a short foot chase, deputies caught him and took him to the Adult Detention Center. He faces charges of home invasion and motor vehicle theft, with additional charges expected from the Highway Patrol.
