Chase Bodiford was arrested Saturday, Aug. 22, in connection with the crash at Schillinger Road South and Cottage Hill Road that killed Alan Grantham, according to the Mobile Police Department.
Police said officers responded to the intersection around 11:50 a.m. on June 20. Investigators determined a pickup truck traveling south on Schillinger Road ran a traffic light and collided with a vehicle traveling west on Cottage Hill Road.
Grantham, who was a passenger in the vehicle that was struck, died at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
According to jail records, Bodiford is charged with murder, first-degree assault and driving without insurance. As of Monday morning, he remained in Mobile Metro Jail.
