Mobile police have arrested a man accused of firing a gun at another man during an argument earlier this month, striking the victim’s vehicle multiple times.
According to a Mobile Police Department news release, officers were called to the 600 block of Palmetto Street around 5:15 p.m. on Aug. 4 for a report of a shooting. When they arrived, officers said they learned the male victim had been in an argument with a woman when 20-year-old Tamyrick Nunn arrived and “began discharging his firearm” at the victim.
Police said the victim was able to drive away and was not injured, though his vehicle was struck multiple times by gunfire. Nunn was arrested Aug. 12, more than a week after the shooting, and was charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling.
About the Charge
Alabama’s law against shooting into an occupied dwelling also covers firing into an occupied vehicle, such as a car or truck. As part of a public safety package passed by the Legislature in 2025, the offense was upgraded from a Class B felony to a Class A felony, the state’s most serious felony class, which carries a sentence of 10 years to life in prison upon conviction. Nunn is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
