MOBILE, Ala. — A gold sedan plowed through an outside wall of M&A Studios off South Florida Street Wednesday afternoon, destroying part of the longtime Mobile photography studio — and narrowly missing its owner.

The crash happened around 2 p.m. at the business’s address in the 100 block of South Florida Street, with Mobile police officers on scene investigating. M&A Studios has operated in the Mobile community since 1965.

‘I’d Be Right Where the Car Came Through’

Owner Michael Nall said the car struck the section of the building where his equipment is stored, causing damage he estimated at $40,000 to $50,000. The studio had been undergoing renovations to the front of the building, according to Nall.

He said he had stepped out of the room moments before impact to take a phone call.

“I just left the room to take a phone call,” Nall said. “It’s a good thing I did. I’d be right where the car came through.”
