- What: South Alabama Football Fan Day
- Where: Mitchell Center
- When: Sunday, Aug. 24, 4-6 p.m.
Season Approaching
The event comes less than two weeks before South Alabama opens its 2014 season on Sept. 6 at Kent State. The Jaguars play their home opener Sept. 13 against Mississippi State at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
South Alabama finished 6-6 overall and 4-3 in the Sun Belt Conference last season, its first as a full member of the Football Bowl Subdivision, placing third in the league. Jones, the only head coach in program history, is preparing the Jaguars through preseason camp.
After the Mississippi State game, South Alabama plays eight Sun Belt Conference games in a nine-week stretch before traveling to South Carolina on Nov. 22. The Jaguars close the regular season at home against Navy.
Fan Day gives supporters a chance to meet the 2014 team in person before the season begins, and fans planning to attend games can buy tickets on site rather than waiting until game week.
