Daphne District 7 Council Seat Open as City Seeks Applicants

The Daphne City Council is accepting resumes to fill the District 7 seat vacated by Joe Davis III, who was elected to the Baldwin County Commission.

DAPHNE, Ala. — The Daphne City Council is accepting resumes from residents interested in filling the Daphne District 7 seat, which Councilman Joe Davis III vacated on Nov. 13 after his election to the Baldwin County Commission.

The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. today, Friday, Dec. 7.

Interviews Set for Dec. 10

The council plans to interview applicants during a special-called meeting beginning at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, in the Council Chambers at Daphne City Hall.

Eligibility

To be considered, an applicant must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen at least 18 years old.
  • Hold no other public office, except notary public.
  • Have been a qualified elector of District 7 in the City of Daphne for at least 90 days.

District 7 includes, among other areas, the Timbercreek, Historic Malbis and Canterbury subdivisions. A map of the city’s council districts is available at Daphne City Hall.

How to Apply

Applicants must submit a complete resume with a letter of intent to the attention of City Clerk Candace G. Antinarella. Submissions may be sent by email, delivered by hand to Daphne City Hall at 1705 Main Street, or mailed to P.O. Box 400, Daphne, Alabama 36526.
