The South Alabama men’s golf team rallied from a 16-stroke first-round deficit to win the Samford Intercollegiate on Tuesday, overtaking ninth-ranked UAB to claim the title by two shots.
Comeback Victory
The Jaguars trailed UAB by 16 strokes after Monday’s first round before passing the Blazers to win the team championship.
The title is South Alabama’s first since it won the BancorpSouth Intercollegiate on April 5, 2011. It is also the Jaguars’ fourth top-three finish of the season.
Hulse Ties for Second
Lane Hulse shot rounds of 74, 74 and 73 to tie for second place individually and lead South Alabama’s effort.

The Jaguars, members of the Sun Belt Conference, earned an at-large bid to an NCAA Regional last season, the first at-large selection in program history.
