Motorcycle riders will mount up in Foley this Saturday to support a very different kind of riding — horses. The Fugarwe Tribe Motorcycle Club is hosting a charity ride on July 20 benefiting an equine therapy group, giving bikers a firsthand look at the program their dollars support.
The ride kicks off at Scuttlebutt Pub in Foley, with kickstand up at 1 p.m. From there, participants will cruise to the Equine Therapy Group in Bay Minette, where they’ll get to see the horses and meet the people behind the therapeutic riding program before turning back south.
The route wraps up back in Foley at Doc Holliday’s, where riders can cap off the day with a pool tournament and keep the fundraiser going into the evening.
Equine therapy programs use interactions with horses to help people work through physical, emotional and behavioral challenges, and they depend on community fundraisers like this one to feed and care for their animals.
