Orange Beach Businesses Raised BP Claims Concerns in 2010

James Bullard, September 14, 2010

In September 2010, Orange Beach business owners told WKRG they were frustrated by the pace of compensation claims following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

The report described a planned public meeting with Gulf Coast Claims Facility administrator Kenneth Feinberg. Local business owners said reduced customer traffic had strained their operations and that they had not yet received the relief they expected.

The meeting at the Orange Beach Recreation Center was expected to draw residents and business owners seeking answers about the claims process.

This is a historical summary of reporting from 2010. It describes concerns and claims expressed at that time, not current claims procedures or conditions.
