A Louisiana man has died more than a week after a motorcycle crash on Interstate 10 near Loxley, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency announced, after he initially survived being transported to a Pensacola hospital for treatment.
ALEA reported that Stephen Foster, 48, was riding a 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle on I-10 approximately 12 miles east of Loxley on July 4 when he collided with a 2020 Honda Civic driven by Arthur E. Lynn, 30, of Milton, Florida. Foster was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola for treatment following the crash, and died from his injuries on July 13 — more than a week after the initial collision.
The Fourth of July holiday and surrounding travel weekend has historically been one of the highest-risk periods for traffic fatalities on Alabama interstates, as vacation traffic bound for the Gulf Coast mixes with local commuters along the I-10 corridor through Baldwin County. ALEA has not released additional details on the cause of the collision or whether any charges are being considered.
