Mobile County Confirmed Second H1N1 Case in May 2009

James Bullard, May 19, 2009

State health officials confirmed Mobile County’s second H1N1 influenza case in May 2009, according to the Mobile County Health Department.

A 24-year-old patient had first tested positive for Influenza A at a private physician’s office. A sample sent to the state laboratory in Montgomery was then confirmed as H1N1.

Patient recovered without hospitalization

The county health department said the patient did not require hospitalization and had fully recovered. Earlier that month, officials had confirmed Mobile County’s first reported H1N1 case.
